Permitted Paid Engagement Visa

The permitted paid engagement visa is for those who are over 18 years of age and wish to visit the UK for a short period undertaking a paid engagement without the need for being sponsored for work under the UK point based system.The maximum permitted stay in the UK is one month.

Permitted Paid Engagement visa requirements

In order to qualify for a Permitted Paid Engagement visa, the applicant will need to satisfy the below requirements:

  • Intend to undertake only specified paid work
  • Invited by a UK based organisation or client
  • Paid work must be in relation to area of expertise or occupation overseas
  • Intend to leave the UK at the end of the visit
  • Have sufficient funds to cover all reasonable costs in relation to the visit without accessing public funds

Individuals who are invited to be a student examiner or assessor, participate in selection panels as a highly qualified academic, give one-off lectures at a higher education institution, air pilot examiners, provide advocacy in a specific area of law, participate in arts, entertainment, or sporting activities including broadcasting, or attend fashion modelling assignments typically take this route.
